Bio

Louis "Lou" Robert Prchal age 88 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at his residence. Lou was born on August 16, 1934 to Charles George Prchal and Matilda Ann (Reidmann) Prchal in Omaha, NE. He was raised in Omaha and Lou attended St. Rose Grade School and he graduated from South High School with the class of 1954. After graduating from high school, he started working in Omaha. Lou met the love of his life Virginia "Ginny" Lou Danburg and they later married on June 16, 1956 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Omaha. Lou and Ginny lived and raised their children in South Omaha until 1970 when they moved to Millard. Lou worked as a salesman for the Coca-Cola Company Foods Division in Omaha for thirty years. In 1991, Lou and Ginny moved to their retirement home at Beaver Lake. He is survived by his wife: Virginia "Ginny" Prchal of Beaver Lake, NE; two sons: Robert L. Prchal of Omaha, NE; Ronald "Ron" Prchal and his wife Jessica of Beaver Lake, NE; two daughters: Carol Hughes and her husband Steve of Omaha, NE; Linda Butkus and her husband Joe of Blair, NE; seven grandchildren: Theresa Coan and her husband Matt, Tom Butkus and his wife Stephanie, Danielle Burgstiner and her husband Jason, Benjamin Butkus and his wife Elizabeth, David Prchal, Mikayla Prchal, and Morgan Dopke; three great-grandchildren: Claire Burgstiner, Hannah Burgstiner, Eli Butkus, and baby boy Coan (on the way); his brother: Tom Prchal of Storm Lake, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Lou was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Matilda Prchal, two brothers: Charles Prchal and Raymond Prchal, his sister: Dorothy Chromy, and sister-in-law: Lorene Prchal. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M., on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Friday, October 21, 2022 at the Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Tony Bedient officiating, Troy Baumert as acolyte, Kathy Bauer and Theresa Coan as lectors, Terry Little and Laurie Pujado as vocalists, and Laurie Hajek-Jones as organist. Gift Bearers will be Danielle Burgstiner, Mikayla Prchal, and Morgan Dopke. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Benjamin Butkus, Eli Butkus, Tom Butkus, and David Prchal. His Final Resting Place will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Plattsmouth.
