Bette Sue Tischler, 69, of Meridian, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Pastor Terry Adkins officiating. Bette Sue was born in Bosque County to Riley and Lillian (Rohne) Prisk. She graduated from Cooper High School in Lubbock. On Dec. 31, 1955, she married Delton Tischler in Roswell, N.M. The couple had four children. They raised their family in Dimmitt. She was at home with her children until 1973, when she went to work at the Post Office, where she was the first female carrier in the area. She retired after 27 years of service. After retiring, they moved to Meridian where they resided near the Bosque River. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all. She was preceded in death by her father, Riley Prisk. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Delton Tischler, of Meridian; son, Mike Tischler and wife, Judy, of Nacona; daughters, Sandra Watkins and husband, Billy, of Chickasha, Okla., Tobby Tischler, of Meridian, and Sonccia Watkins and husband, Rusty, of Chickasha, Okla; grandchildren, Colin Tischler, and Tanner and Tristin Watkins; and great-granddaughters, Kaylee and Lane Tischler; her mother, Lillian Prisk, of Meridian; brother, Bobby Prisk and wife, Hanol, of Clifton; sister, Pat Rabe and husband, Don, of Meridian; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
