Sept. 19, 2024 -------------------------------------- Jerry Konert, age 69, of Columbus died Friday, October 14, 2022 at his home. Services are pending. Gerald Joseph Konert was born January 13, 1953 at St. Mary's Hospital in Columbus to Gerald and Catherine (Voichoskie) Konert. He grew up in Genoa and graduated from Genoa High School. On August 25, 1973 Jerry was united in marriage to Bonnie Vogt in Ravenna, Nebraska. Although at times Jerry could be the epitome of "The Grumpy Old Man" and rarely said so, he loved his children and grandchildren greatly. His next love was motorcycles which he rode for many years and enjoyed vacationing through many states by motorcycle. He is survived by: Wife: Bonnie Konert of Columbus, NE Son: Bryan Konert of Linwood, NE Son: Eric (Nikki) Konert of Columbus, NE Grandchildren: Sawyer and Kennedy Konert Son: Justin Konert of Columbus, NE Daughter: Heather (Chris) Docker of Omaha, NE Sister: Rosemary (Dick) Wheeler of Iowa Park, TX He was preceded in death by: Parents: Gerald and Catherine Konert A Sibling in infancy Sister and Brother-in-law: Margaret and Richard Sliva
