Bio

Marjorie A. Parker Christensen, 89, died Nov. 22, 2001, in Bountiful. She was born June 9, 1912, in Richfield, a daughter of Thomas Bryant and Ader Manora Gilbert Parker . She married Merrill Soren Christensen in Salt Lake City Dec. 13, 1935. He died June 30, 1985. Marjorie was a lifelong resident of Richfield and the surrounding area. She graduated from Richfield High School. She worked for Sevier School District in the School Lunch Program before working at Merrill's Drug Store in the 1960s. Marjorie was a member of the Richfield Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and an active member of the LDS Church. She also served as the secretary of Joseph Grazing Cattle and Land Investment for many years. She was a loving mother and grandmother whose presence will be greatly missed. Surviving family includes three children, Merrill Don (Helen) Christensen, St. George; Marjorie Ann (Scott) Tarbet, North Salt Lake City, and Kent Soren (Debra) Christensen, Hooper; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Gilbert (Betty) Parker, Harrisburg; one sister, Ermon Parker Winget, Salt Lake City, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 11 a.m. at the Richfield Fourth LDS Ward Chapel. Interment was at the Richfield Cemetery under the direction of the Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary. The family expresses much appreciation to the Heritage Place Assisted Living Center, the South Davis Hospice group, and to a special neighbor, Glade Reynolds, for their tremendous service.
