((Cheryl has a memorial/headstone at Omaha National Cemetery also)) Per Benne's obituary--Ashes will be interred at Geneva Cemetery.)) A Memorial Service for Benne & Cheryl Linder will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Geneva, Nebraska. Cheryl passed away January 14, 2021. A Graveside Committal of Ashes with Military Honors was held in the Geneva Public Cemetery following the Memorial Service. The recorded selection "Amazing Grace" and "In The Garden" were played during the Memorial Service. "America, The Beautiful" was played at the cemetery. Military Rites were performed by the Samuel J. Marsh Geneva VFW Post 7102, the Geneva Sons of the American Legion and the United States Navy Honor Guard. Memorials are directed to the Geneva Veteran's Memorial Park. Cheryl Ann Linder, 72 of Lincoln, Nebraska was born to Clem & Lois (Luckert) Hahn on February 3, 1948 and she passed away on January 14, 2021 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Benne Dean Linder, 81 of Lincoln, Nebraska was born to Roy & Francis (Schupbach0 Linder on September 17, 1941 and he passed away October 2, 2022 at the Oxbow Assisted Living Center in Ashland, Nebraska. Benne joined the Navy in 1960 and retired in 1982 as an E9 which is the highest rank for an enlisted soldier. Following his service in the Navy, he and Cheryl both worked for the Nebraska Department of Roads in Lincoln until retirement. They enjoyed going to the horse track, bowling, playing cards, spending time with their grandkids and watching their events. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents Clem & Lois; and daughter Baby Lisa Linder. Cheryl's brother, Jim Hahn, passed away after Cheryl's passing. Benne was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl; parents, Roy & Fran; his brother, Leland; and his daughter, Baby Lisa Linder. Benne & Cheryl are survived by children, Dawn (Aaron) Hamilton of Ashland, Nebraska and Eric (Shannon) Linder of Lincoln, Nebraska; Benne's brother Delfs Linder and Becky Davenport of Mission, Texas; Cheryl's brother John Hahn; Cheryl's sister-in-law Arlette Hahn; three grandchildren, Cole, Kara and Bodhi; nieces, nephew and many friends. ~ View cenotaph HERE .
