Bio

Velma Kay Davis, 91, of Houston, Texas, passed away on September 30, 2022. She was born on March 19, 1931 in Rosenberg, Texas to John Levi Nett and Ellie Katie Zwahr Nett. She was a member of the Braeswood Assembly of God Church in Houston. Velma was a gifted visual artist, painter, and seamstress. She had a great love of animals and took pride in rescuing birds. Velma was truly loved by all and will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, Velma is preceded in death by her brothers, Archie Levi Nett, Jack August Nett, and Robert "Bobby" Nett. Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Richard Davis; son, John Davis and wife, Melinda; daughter, Cheryl Davis; and son, Jeffrey Davis and wife, Sarah; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; along with extended family and friends. A service celebrating Velma's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2022, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Tributes and words of condolence may be left for the family at www.davisgreenlawnfh.com.
