He is the son of Glenn Boyd Carpenter and Ora Gertrude Greenway. He married Betty Jo London. 1943 WWII Draft Card: He was living in Wolfe City, Hunt, Texas. He was working for his father. He weighed 137 lbs and was 5'8". He had brown eyes and brown hair. 1945 WWII Navy Muster Rolls: He enlisted in the Navy on April 30, 1945. I found another document stating he enlisted on Dec 29, 1944 and was released on Feb 16, 1946. 1953 City Directory: He was living in Lubbock, Texas with his wife. He was working as a mechanic. 1958 City Directory: He was living in Lubbock, Texas with his wife. He was working as a clerk. He died July 7 in Methodist Church in Lubbock. He was born April 6, 1923, in Wolfe City and married Betty London of Bailey. Mr. Carpenter was a Baptist. Surviving are his wife; sons, Mike, Tony and Mark Carpenter; mother, Ora Carpenter of Wolfe City; sister, Minnie Boyd Nelson of Greenville; brothers, Ralph Carpenter of College Station and Gary Carpenter of Waco; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Clayton Carpenter, preceded him in death.
