Mavis Wright, 87, of Justin died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, at a Fort Worth medical center. Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday, Justin Church of Christ, Shane Coleman officiating. Burial: 3 p.m. in Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Pallbearers will be Danny Roberts, Doug and Gary Wallum, Del Jones, John Bailey and Mickey Reid. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Henderson, Bob Knox, Dan Mosley, David Newby. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to In Search of the Lord's Way, P.O. Box 371, Edmond, Okla. 73083-9901; or Christ's Haven for Children, P.O. Box 467, Keller 76244. She was born Dec. 21, 1920, in Briar to Charlie and Nellie Person Newby. She married Edwin Wright on Nov. 10, 1936, in Weatherford. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1974. She was a member of Justin Church of Christ and had retired from the Mrs Baird's cake plant. Survivors: Daughter, Doris Williams of Justin; son, Loyd Wright of Flower Mound; brother, Milas Newby of Fort Worth; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
