Jimmy Bennett, 78, of Plainview passed away September 21, 2022. A visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 27, 2022 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in the Kress Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Jimmy was born on February 21, 1944 to William Allen Bennett and Lois Pearl Bennett. He was born in Plainview and lived in the surrounding Kress and Plainview area for all of his life. He farmed for over 40 years in Kress and Claytonville. After retiring from farming, he owned a furniture store in Plainview. He enjoyed drinking coffee in the morning with his friends but mostly loved playing dominoes in the afternoon. He attended domino tournaments over the years and won several trophies which he was proud of. Jimmy is survived by his daughter Shelly Tye, sons; Scotty Bennett and Craige Bennett, sisters; Joann Young and Reba Freeman, grandchildren; Haylee and Brandee Bennett, Canon and Kenadee Bennett, Zant and Zaden Tye. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents William Allen Bennett and Lois Pearl Bennett and his sister CloeAnn Carley.
