Rodney Johnston, 80, died comfortably at his home in Midland, TX on Sunday August 7, 2022. He was born in Big Spring, TX to Zelma Crow Johnston and William Jordan Johnston on December 18, 1941. He spent the majority of his life in Big Spring and graduated from Big Spring High School. Following high school, he joined the United States Air Force and always laughed about the fact he joined to see the world and was stationed back in Big Spring. After leaving the Air Force he became a truck driver, doing that job for 35 years. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time surrounded by his family, watching football and debating with the commentators on the news. He is survived by his son Jeff Johnston and daughter-in-law Ladonna Johnston of Midland, TX; his daughter Amy Biodrowski and son-in-law Mike Biodrowski of Midland, TX; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, William Jordan Johnston, his mother Zelma Crow Johnston, his brother Ralph Johnston, his brother Dillard Johnston, his sister Shirley Tindol and a beloved nephew Marc Johnston. The viewing will take place at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home located at 2508 N. Big Spring, Midland, TX on Wednesday August 10, 2022 from 5-9pm. The family will receive visitors from 6-8pm. The burial will be on Thursday August 11, 2022 at 11am at Mount Olive Cemetery in Big Spring, TX.
