Bio

Barry James Gumm, born September 13, 1958, to William Earl Gumm and Hermina Agnes (Pekar) Gumm went home to his Savior on August 29, 2022. Tina (Jackson), his wife, best friend, and rock of 37 years was by his side holding his hand, as she always was, when he opened his eyes and saw the Lord. Bubblegum or Gumption as some called him was an avid researcher, spirited teacher, devoted follower of Christ, and musical enthusiast. When his oldest daughter, Jaime Gumm, had a brain tumor, he devoted his time to studying books and medical journals about the brain. When his middle daughter, Megan Bellomy, began to work for him at On Time Couriers, he began to teach her his incredibly unique outlook on life and ways of talking to people he had never met, usually by making them smile or laugh. When his third daughter (the first "baby of the family"), Kirsten Santaga, turned out to be absolutely perfect, he quoted scriptures thanking the Lord for such wonderful blessings on earth. Then came his fourth daughter, Rylee Gumm. She was the apple of his eye, even though he told all of his girls separately they each were his favorite. He played music often and loudly, and many times, the same song, over and over again, singing at the top of his lungs. His incredible dance moves, no doubt helped Rylee become one of the most gifted dancers her family and friends had ever seen. He loved encouraging others and playing golf and was effortlessly good at both. Barry was a member of the Dallas Athletic Club for 30 years. He loved spending time drinking wine with his son-in-laws, Sean Bellomy and Anthony Santaga. His legacy lives on with his beautiful grandchildren, Bella and Blair Gumm, Giovanni Santaga, and Bond Bellomy. Barry is also survived by his 6 siblings that he loved dearly. Preceding him in death are both his parents, as well as his beloved Effie and Joe Skrhak.
