Bio

William J. Terry , 78, was born approximately in 1839 in Bibb County, Alabama. His parents were John Henry and Elizabeth (Baker) Terry Sr.. He married Lucinda Risinger on October 12, 1865, in Tyler, Texas. They were the parents of four children: Louisa Jane (Terry) Risinger, Mary Elizabeth (Terry) Risinger, William Franklin Terry, and George Michael Terry. William Terry was a military veteran in the Texas Calvary, serving as a private in Company G, 24th C. S. A., from April 1862 to April 1865. The 1910 census report shows William J & Lucinda Terry living with their daughter, Louisa Risinger, her spouse Calvin, and their children in Brazos County, Texas. The military veteran headstone application, shows that William Terry died on March 13, 1917. Note : His wife/widow is not listed in a 1920 census. Lucinda is thought to have passed away between the 1910 and 1920. They were married for almost 50 years and she is presumed to be buried in an unmarked grave next to her husband.
