Laverne Rose Lea Willford, 84, of Prineville passed away on June 12, 2011 In accordance with her wishes, no service will be held. Rose was born on April 14, 1927 in Winona, Mo. to Jess Kerr and Effie Brawley. She attended school in Warrenton, Ore. After school, she married and started a family. In 1962, Rose married Leon Willford in Portland, Ore. She worked in canneries and the electronics industry for several years. She lived at Riverside Gardens in Prineville for the last several years. Rose's hobbies included playing cards and Bingo at Riverside Gardens, bowling, fishing, camping, playing penny slots at Kah-Nee-Ta, and spending time with her family. She strung beads and crocheted hundreds of crafts for her friends and family. Rose is survived by three sons, Michael (Diane) Stuart of Seaside, Ore., George (Donna) Stuart of Portland, Ore., and Greg (Kelly) Stuart of Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Vicki (Tom) Case of Prineville, and Janet Stuart of Colville, Wash.; two sisters, Juanita Jones of McMinnville, Ore., and Eula Phebus of Troutdale, Ore.; one brother, Jerry Kerr of Spokane, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters. Whispering Pines Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
