Mary Helen (Slagle) Wiggins was born on April 7, 1942, in Dallas, Dallas County, TX. to Charles Patrick Slagle and Mary Lon (Crouch) Slagle. She grew up in a small rural community of Pleasant Grove in Dallas, TX. Helen "Nanny" was a loving, compassionate, amazing Woman of God. She lived her life not only serving others, but most importantly serving God. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of prayer and a relationship with God. Her favorite song was "Hold to God's Unchanging Hand". Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Slagle; sisters, Barbara Oakley, Patsy McCarty, and Joy Hathcock. She is also preceded in death by her son, George "Glenn" Wiggins. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, 4 sons, 1 sister, 14 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. She is buried in the Gilgal Cemetery, 2991 Old Arcadia Road, Minden, Webster Parish, Louisiana. ∼ Mary Helen Wiggins April 7, 1942 — August 1, 2022 Minden Services celebrating the life of Mary Helen Wiggins will be held Saturday August 6, 2022, at 11:00 A. M. at City on a Hill Pentecostals Church Minden, LA with her grandson Colton Wiggins officiating along with her son Davis Wiggins, II and family friend Richard Williams. Interment will follow at Gilgal Baptist Church on Old Arcadia Rd in Minden, LA. Mrs. Wiggins was born on April 7, 1942, in the small rural community of Pleasant Grove, Dallas, Texas. To the parents of Charles Patrick Slagle and Mary Lon (Crouch) Slagle. Mrs. Wiggins ascended to her heavenly home on August 1, 2022. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Davis Wiggins, and their four sons, Davis Wiggins, II and wife Monica of Alexandria, LA, James Wiggins of Minden, LA, Michael Wiggins and wife Amanda of Minden, LA, and Jeffery Wiggins and wife Tanya of Minden, LA. She is survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren with one on the way. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Walzel, and her husband Myron, of Garland, TX. Helen was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mary Slagle, sisters, Barbara Oakley, Patsy McCarty, and Joy Hathcock. She is also preceded in death by her son George "Glenn" Wiggins. Helen "Nanny" was a loving, compassionate, amazing Woman of God. She lived her life not only serving others, but most importantly serving God. She instilled in her children, grandchildren, the importance of prayer and a relationship with God.
