OBITUARY: The Argus, Benton, Pennsylvania, Thursday, November 1, 1928 DEATH OF WOMAN TAX COLLECTOR ON FRIDAY Miss Alice Laubach, tax collector of Orangeville borough and one of the county's most esteemed women, passed away at her late home in Orangeville at 6:15 o'clock Friday evening with death due to a compilation of diseases. She was aged 76 years and had been ill for some time. Miss Laubach who was one of the county's few women tax collectors, a few years ago was appointed to that office following the death of her sister, Miss Ida Laubach, and in 1925 was elected to served four year term. Most of her life was devoted to teaching and most of that time was spent in county school rooms where she endeared herself to hundreds of pupils, she was the last of her family and the closest relatives surviving are cousins. Funeral services were held at her late home in Orangeville at two o'clock Monday afternoon, and was in charge of Rev. R.L. Barber, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, of which she was a faithful member for many years. Favorite hymns, "Lead Kindly Light" and "Asleep in Jesus" were read during the services. Burial was made in the family plot at Orangeville.
