Bio
Thora Charlene Hansen Brown died peacefully on Monday, November 19, 2007, at her home surrounded by her sister and children. Charlene was born on January 7, 1928, in Gunnison, Utah, to C. Berdean and Helen Hansen. She attended schools in Richfield and after her marriage to Vallen C. Brown, they relocated to Spanish Fork, Utah, where they raised their 5 children. Charlene worked with the Nebo School District as a lunch lady, and the four women she worked with joked about their unusual names, Thora, Keturah, Bethyl, and Nondis. After Vallen's death in 1970, Charlene graduated from BYU with an RN Degree and was employed at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. Charlene had many loves which included her yard and roses, making quilts, creating ceramic dolls, trips to Fishlake, and her grandchildren. Charlene was very creative and spent many hours lovingly organizing and creating photo memory books which her children and grandchildren continue to enjoy. Charlene is survived by her sister, Carla Hansen; five children, Linda Tervort (Elden); Pat Thomas (Wayne); Kaye Ellis (Brent); Janet Hunter; and Kevin (Carrie) Brown; 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and her dog, Lucky. All will miss her, but will remember her kindness and loving devotion to everyone. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Spanish Fork 19th Ward Chapel, 585 North Main, Spanish Fork. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:00-10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Richfield City Cemetery. The family wishes to express their thanks to Vista Care Hospice and the 19th Ward Priesthood.
