Bio

Maralyn Walker Holman, 89, of Orem passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021 at her home. Maralyn was born May 24, 1932 in Lindon, Utah to Robert and Mae Richards Walker. She married Charles Eugene Holman on September 4, 1957 in Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Maralyn grew up in Lindon and attended schools there and in Pleasant Grove. She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1950. She attended both BYU and the University of Utah and studied Physical Education and Radiology. She and Gene made their home in Orem where they raised their three children. She worked as a X-Ray Technician for many years in both southern California and Provo. Maralyn's love in life was spending time with her family. She was musically gifted and passed this love of music on to her children. She was active in sports as both a participant and loved nothing more than watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She enjoyed tinkering in her yard and gardening was her therapy. She is survived by her three children: Jeff Holman, Orem; Nancy Snell, Orem and Julie (Lance) Newman, Pleasant Grove; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Gene; parents and four siblings: Jess Walker, Don Walker, Maxine Peterson and Louise Deveraux. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove where family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:30-10:45am prior to services.
