Bio

A funeral mass for Ben Anton Kaspar, 75, of Blessing, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing with the Rev. Peter Higgins officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Blessing. A rosary will be said at 6 p. m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing. Mr. Kaspar was born May 14, 1918, in Taylor to Frank J. and Francis Urbanek Kaspar and died Feb. 2, 1994, at his residence. He was a farmer and resident of Blessing since 1945. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing, the KJT and secretary for RVOS #130 for 39 years. Survivors include his wife, Matilda Kaspar of Blessing; two daughters, Patricia Thorn of Brazoria and Mary Gillam of Aiken, S. C.; three sons, Ben Kaspar Jr. of Bay City, John Kaspar of Victoria and Steven Kaspar of Bay City; two sisters, Bertha Kubicek of Taylor and Louise Mokry of Corpus Christi; four brothers, Elick Kaspar of Thorndale, Joe Kaspar of Mt. Calm, Method Kaspar and Cyril Kaspar, both of Corpus Christi and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Frank Kaspar. Pallbearers are John Kaspar Jr., Trent Kocurek, Emil Vaculin, Ronald Hickl, Michael Kaspar and Donald Hickl. Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church Building Fund or to the Holy Cross School Foundation of Bay City. Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home of Bay City.
