Emil J. Morris Funeral Mass for Emil J. Morris, 84, of Blessing will be at 11 a. m. Friday, April 24 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing with Rev. Peter Higgins officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Blessing. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 tonight, April 23 at St. Peter's. Morris passed away Wednesday, April 22 in Bay City. He was born May 6, 1913 to John Karl Morris and Frances Orsak Morris. He was a resident of the Blessing area since 1947, was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, a member of the S. P. J. S. T. and served as a President and Secretary, and was a member of the R. V. O. S. He was voted "Outstanding Cotton Farmer of the Year" in 1996. Morris is survived by his wife, Marie Morris of Blessing; a daughter and son-in-law, Rosemarie and Jimmy Maroul of Dickinson, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Carol Morris of San Antonio; a sister, Betty Kana of Palacios; a brother, Alvin Morris of Scott, Miss.; four grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Louis, Willie, Edward, Ludwig, and Eugene Morris. Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City.
