Lucile Okey Evans 1927 - 2022 Lucile Okey Evans, soon to be 95, after a well-lived life, peacefully died on August 4, 2022, of natural causes. Lucile was born on October 10, 1927, to Wilford Le Roy and Florence Lillian Thrasher Okey, in American Fork, Utah. She was the youngest of three girls who were her closest and dearest friends even though they complained that Lucile was spoiled. She attended schools in American Fork, where she was valedictorian of her graduating class and attended Brigham Young University for one year. While employed as a dental assistant, she went on a blind date with a young farmer from Lehi, Utah, Ernest Paul "Bud" Evans. They went to a dance and Bud did not like to dance. At the end of the evening, they both went home and told their mother that they had met the one that they were going to marry. Until then, Lucile had always said that she would never marry a farmer or someone that didn't like to dance. Bud and Lucile enjoyed 50 years of life and marriage together, dancing in the kitchen, before his death in 1998. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple. They raised their seven children on the Evans family farm and taught them the importance of hard work, honesty, loving and taking care of one another, and having a positive outlook in all situations. Lucile was a homemaker who excelled in cooking, baking, candy making, and sewing. As an artist, she engineered her children's toys and created beautiful paintings and drawings which her family cherishes. She was an example of quiet service and went about doing good always. Lucile worked as the manager of Durfey's Dry Cleaning in Lehi for many years where she enjoyed the friendship of the "laundry ladies" and also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She supported Bud, her children, and her grandchildren in all of their endeavors. Lucile is survived by her children: Randy (Sondra) Evans, Dale (Mary) Evans, Linda Clark, Susan (John) Baxter, Jill Winslow, Guy (Peggy) Evans and son-in-law Shaun Lamb. She has 24 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 1 great, great-granddaughter, and the family tree keeps on growing. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and their families. She loves you like her own. Preceded in death by her parents and sisters and their spouses: Helen (Stan) Dahl and Jean (David) Teague. Also, by her daughter, Diane Lamb, and sons-in-law, Gary Clark and Tim Winslow. Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 11, 2022, at the Lehi City Cemetery, 1100 North 400 East at 11:00 a.m.. A luncheon will follow at the Jordan Willows Stake Center on 2161 West Gray's Drive where family and friends are invited to share a memory. — Wing Mortuary | 2022
