Tyler Morning Telegraph January 13, 2012 Services for Mabel Turner Atchley, 93, of Quitman are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 14, at First Baptist Church, Quitman, at 10 a.m. with Bro. Fred Morrow and the Rev. James Nickell officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Asmussen & LyBrand Funeral Home in Quitman. She went to her heavenly home, Jan. 11, 2012. Mabel was a member of First Baptist Quitman for 60-plus years. She was preceded in death by husband, Homer C. Turner Sr., after 52 years of marriage; and husband, Jess Atchley, 12 years; and mother, Daisy Tucker. Survivors include son, Homer Turner and wife Rose of Holly Lake; daughter, Betty Poe and husband Ron of Hideaway; granddaughters, Tammy Barton and husband Wayne of Tyler, and Cindy Moseley and husband Kevin of McKinney; grandsons, Scott Turner and wife Rhonda of Hawkins, Jon Poe and wife Judy of McKinney, Matt Poe and wife Dori of Pottsboro, Bill Poe and wife Darbi of Spring Hill; and nine great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made to The Hospice of East Texas Foundation; Quitman Senior Center; or First Baptist Church, Quitman.
