Elected in 1834, he was the first sheriff of Johnson County, Missouri. His probate file lists his year of death as 1837. Burial location listed as Blackwater Cemetery in "History of Pioneer Families told at Blackwater Cemetery Homecoming"; Warrensburg Star Journal, May 31, 1929.
