OBITUARY- Times Post, Houston, MS Dec. 6, 1945 Jim Ab Hardin, brother-in-law of Mrs. V. B. Philpot, former Houston resident, died this morning in Campbell's Clinic in Memphis as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Vardaman Saturday night. According to reports reaching Houston Wed. afternoon, Mr. Hardin was believed to have been doing all right shortly before he died. He suffered several broken ribs and a broken jaw, and his lungs collapsed. Jeff mcWhinney, another occupant of the car from Vardaman is in the Houston Hospital suffering from head injuries and a dislocated hip. Services for Mr. Hardin are incomplete. Burial will be near Vardaman. Dr. V. B. Philpot, a nephew, had just reached Memphis from Hew York and was with Hardin when he died.
