Henry A. Burden of near Fairy was well known in and around Hico. He was driving a truck with a load of cattle to Fort Worth. He was involved in an accident at Camp Bowie and Birchman in Fort Worth. He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital where he died. The body of Mr. Burden was brought to the home of his father-in-law, J.J. Leeth, in Hico. Services will be held Friday. He was born near Town Creek, Alabama and with his parents moved to Texas in 1893. He professed faith in Jesus in 1900 and united with the Olin Baptist Church. He married Miss Maymee Leeth on 17 December 1911. To this union, nine children were born. He leaves a wife and nine children, his parents, three brothers, and seven sisters. He was a kind and affectionate husband and father. His desire was to see his children be well-educated so that they might be able to fight the battles of life. His body was laid to rest in the Fairy cemetery where one sister and three brothers sleep. Brother H.D. Blair of Cisco, a former pastor, and Rev. Bradley Allison of Brownwood, pastor of the Fairy Baptist Church conducted the funeral services. He had so many friends as there were 800 or 900 people who attended the funeral service.
