Jerry Lee Stephens Slaughter, 83, passed away January 19, 2016 in Allen, Texas. Jerry was born August 10, 1932 in Cannon, Texas, to Thomas and Willie Faye Stephens. She was the sixth of their seven children and a graduate of North Dallas High School. Jerry was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. After retiring, Jerry was an active member at the Grapevine and Coppell senior centers. She was a strong, smart and independent lady who inspired those who knew her. She lived a full and fun life and leaves her family and friends with wonderful memories. Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings and her daughter, Judith Slaughter. She is survived by her son, Steve L Slaughter; daughter, Leslie Cunningham; grandchildren, Shannon Blanchard, Mandy George (Doug), Steven K Slaughter (Nichol) and Chase Cunningham (Megan); great-grandchildren, Trevor Slaughter, Katelyne Halovanic, Ethan and Dalainey Slaughter, Graci Blanchard and Stella Cunningham; as well as a host of additional family and friends. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 AM, Friday, January 29, 2016, at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne. Service will be officiated by Dennis George.
