Bio
Carol Resop, age 82, of Berlin, passed away on Tuesday July 12, 2022, after a courageous battle with numerous health issues. She is now reunited with her loving husband Jake, parents, and siblings who she adored. Born Carol F. Kocurek on October 23, 1939, in Cook County, Illinois. Mom was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She dedicated the majority of her working life to Sentry Food Store in Berlin. She worked her way up to Store Manager, and then retiring as the Floral Department Head which she loved. She loved and was loved by her coworkers and customers. After the passing of Jake, she moved to Oshkosh and helped her daughter at Deb's Spare Time, where she met and befriended many people whom she cherished, along with enjoying an occasional cocktail and video game. She loved time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carol's memory will be cherished, and she will be missed by her devoted family, John Jr. (Sandy) Resop; their children, Rachel (Dimitrios) Resop-Vatakis, Audra (Jay) Thorsten, and Jordan Resop; daughters, Debora Resop, and Victoria (Tony) Weigand and their children, Melissa Sue, Christopher, Cassandra (Shawn) Bowman, Jessica, and Julia. She is further survived by great-grandchildren, Peyton, Tyler, Laikyn and Aiden, many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Pansy Kocurek; brother, Charles; sisters, Albena, Delores and Adair. Our family would like to thank the attentive and caring nurses' team at Park View Health Center for their compassionate care and to KP and Pam for being great friends and lending an ear in her time of need.
