Emil, age 85, of Morgan's Point Resort passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022. Visitation will be held 5 - 7 PM, Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Foss Funeral Home in Valley Mills. Graveside service will be held 10 AM Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Patrick Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. Emil was born in Axtell, Texas, on October 26, 1936, to Emil L. and Gertrude (Brem) Veselka Sr. He graduated from LaVega High School in 1955. Emil started his career in the Air Force, working at Western Union, Herring's Men's Ckothing Store in downtown Temple, and eventually retiring from Delta Centrifugal as the shipping and purchasing department manager. He taught himself to play the fiddle, guitar, steel guitar and banjo. Through the years he played with several bands including Bill Henderson and The Sundowners, Bill Walts and The Good Timers and Country Legends under the stage name "Jimmie Williams". He shared his love of music with his sons. He loved cars, motorcycles, country music, garage sales and a good deal. No one could negotiate a better deal than Emil. Mr. Veselka is preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty Veselka and his nephew, Lewis Russell Towner. He is survived by his sons: Greg Veselka and wife, Brenda of Temple, TX, Jamie Veselka of Moody, TX; grandson, Trenton Veselka; great-granddaughter, Eden Veselka; sister, Georgia Towner and husband, Larry of Waco, TX; nephews: Roger Towner and Aaron Towner; stepchildren: Diana Motloch and husband, Sonny, Rita Workman and husband, Brian; James McNeely and wife, Kathryn, Jesse McNeely and wife, Renee, all of Moody, Texas.
