The following information was donated by: mhenderson (#47179696) Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Friday, December 12, 2014 - Marinelle Manning Holt was born Oct. 11, 1925 to Roull Reese Manning and Mary Elizabeth Manning in Howard, Texas. She went to be with her Lord Dec. 10, 2014 at the age of 89. Marinelle grew up and attended elementary and high school in Waxahachie,Texas, where she graduated valedictorian of her class. She moved from Howard, Texas to Pasadena, Calif. after high school. She worked for a sewing factory in Pasadena until she met the love of her life, Curtis Holt. They were married March 1, 1947 for 47 years. As a housewife and mother she raised three children. She loved writing poems. Although she was not published, she left a beautiful collection of poems for the reading enjoyment of her family and friends. She served in many ministries at the Southern Baptist Church and she was a beloved Sunday school teacher to many. She taught children, youth and adult classes. Her life was dedicated to her family and her church. She is survived by her three children, one daughter, Sandy (David)Phillips; two sons, Curtis Glenn (Linda) Holt and Johnny Ray (Shirley)Holt; six grandchildren, Tami (Allen) Engel; Connie (Larry) LaPrise; Glenda Arffa; Charity Holt, Landon Holt and Lisa (Michael) Sturgent; eleven great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, Roull and Elizabeth; her husband, Curtis; two brothers, Jack and Cecil; two sisters, Thelma Ray and Mickey. A funeral service will be Monday, Dec. 15, at First Southern Baptist Church, 113 N. Acoma Boulevard, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403 with Pastor Edward C. Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in her name to Hospice of Havasu.
