John and Margaretha Seith emigrated to the United States from Reiterswiesen, Bad Kissingen, Bavaria, Germany. They departed on December 1, 1856, from the Port of Hamburg, Deutschland (Germany) aboard the Steamship Borussia, bound for the Port of New York. They are listed as passengers 240 through 244, as Joh Seith age 34 (born abt 1822), Marg Seith age 36 (born abt 1820), Augustin Seith age 4 (born abt 1852), Joseph Seith age 1 (born abt 1856) and Veronika Seith age infant (born abt 1856). The Steamship was a new vessel, having made her first voyage on June 6, 1856 under the commission of the Hamburg-American Line.
