Mrs. N. Gilliland Last rites for Mrs. Normie Elzie Gilliland were held Thursday afternoon, November 21st, at the Alva Methodist Church with the Rev. J. W. Youngblood of Carrollton officiating. Interment was in Alva cemetery under the direction of Oliver Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Henry Cooper, Raymond Wilson, Curtis Parker, Everett Wood, Johnnie Brasher and Evins Swindoll. Mrs. Gilliland who was born in Tishimingo County, Miss., June 1, 1891, passed away at the Tyler-Holmes Memorial Hospital on November 20. She was the widow of S. D. Gilliland. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. L. B. Hayden of Sweatman; Mrs. James Britt, Memphis and Mrs. W. L. Hardin, Montgomery, Ala.; a son, Dexter Gilliland, Winona; four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Honeycutt, Miss Frances Robinson, Mrs. Vernie McDuffey, all of Corinth and Mrs. Lula Stanley, Texas; two brothers, Will Robinson and Ernest Robinson, Corinth; and four grandchildren.
