Bio
Mass of Christian burial of Doris Marie Kuhn, age 86, of Gainesville will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 17, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial following at Rest Haven Cemetery. Rosary/visitation will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 16 at George J. Carroll & Son funeral home. Mrs. Kuhn passed away on June 14, 2022. Pallbearers: Collin Sikes, Chance Sikes, Tanner Kuhn, Paige Bartee, Caden McAnally and Gage McAnally. Doris was born to Frank Joseph Krebs Sr. & Regina Mary (Metzler) Krebs on December 19, 1935, in Tishomingo, OK. She was the youngest of eight children: Mildred, Dillard, Darlene, Eunice, Eugene, Leon, and Frank Jr. She graduated from Gainesville High School Class of 1953 after attending St. Mary's School for all of her previous school years. She married Henry (Red) Kuhn Jr. on June 26, 1956, in Lindsay, TX. They lived a short time in Duncan, OK until moving to Gainesville where they stayed. In 1957, Donna Gayle was born followed by Michael Brett in 1959, Kyle Lane in 1963 and Amy Denise in 1969. Doris actively volunteered for many years at St. Mary's school while her children attended. After all her children started school, she began a career as a bookkeeper for J.A. Owens Contractors, Inc. where Red worked. They became partners and then owners of this company until their retirement in 2008. In retirement they continued and grew their rental property business which still continues today. Doris dearly loved traveling with their vacation crew , playing Bingo, and tending her flower garden. She also enjoyed going to her children and grandchildren's sporting/school events. Doris is survived by her husband of almost 66 years, Red. Children - Donna Sikes (Randy); Brett Kuhn (Stacy), Kyle Kuhn (Denna), Amy McAnally (Vance). Grandchildren - Megan Smith (Zach); Paige Bartee (James); Collin Sikes (Courtney); Tori Kuhn; Bailey Ramirez (Ivan); Kimber Kuhn; Tanner Kuhn; Chance Sikes; Caden McAnally; Karli Kuhn; Gage McAnally; and 9 great grandchildren. Sibling - Frank Krebs Jr. Preceded in death by her parents and other siblings.
