Daughter of Sherman Murray Penny and Mary (Frances) Richards Penny Leona was born on 28 Jan 1908 in Arthur County, Nebraska. Leona lost her mother about 10 days after her birth, around 7 Feb 1908. 1st husband, Alvin Watson, married on 20 Dec 1926 in Iowa 2nd husband,Harry Ackley, married on 20 Jun 1965 in Wyoming After marrying Alvin Watson, they moved to Wyoming, and resided in the Horton, Red Butte and Newcastle areas. Leona and Harry would remain in Newcastle until their deaths. Leona passed away on 20 Jan 1995 ('''obituary shows 21 Jan 1995, SSDI shows 20 Jan 1995''') at Weston Manor Nursing Center in Newcastle, Weston, Wyoming, age 87. Those left to mourn the loss of Leona include her husband, Harry, 3 daughters Darlene and Donnagail, (3rd daughter private, still living), 10 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild. Preceding her in death were her parents, 1st husband Alvin Watson, and 2 granddaughters.
