Eileen Joan Summers Jul 15, 1958 - Jun 15, 2022 Eileen J. Summers, age 63, of Marion, IL, passed away at 3:10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, in Deaconess Gateway Medical Center of Newburgh, IN. She was born on July 15, 1958, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Hubert C. and Anne M. (Maresh) Kocurek. Eileen attended school in Chicago, thru the lower grades at St. Alphonsus Catholic School and was a graduate of Madonna Catholic High School Class of 1976. She was united in marriage to James Edward Summers on February 16, 1985, in Queen of Angels Catholic Church of Chicago, IL, and together they have shared over 38 years of marriage. She was of the Catholic faith and an avid sports fan of all the Chicago teams; Black Hawks, Cubs, Bears and White Sox's. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing arts and crafts, cooking, word games, trying different types of specialty coffees, decorating for the holidays and spending time with family. She was always interested in knowing about all the many activities going on in the lives of her children and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The many memories that have been created will now be cherished by those she leaves behind. She is survived by her husband, James E. Summers of Marion, IL; two daughters, Susanne Gunter and husband, William of Marion and Katie Summers of LaPorte, IN; five sons, Travis Summers and wife, Tiffany of Marion, Philip Summers of Michigan City, IN, Christopher Summers of Fox River, IL, Jason Summers and wife, Laura of Michigan City, IN and Adam Floyd of Marion, twenty grandchildren, three great grandchildren; mother-in-law, Florance E. Summers of Scott Depot, WV; four brothers, Leonard J. Kocurek of Riverside, IL, Adrian J. Kocurek of Chicago, IL, Hubert G. Kocurek of Lewisville, TX and Ronald J. Kocurek and wife, Nancy of Schaumburg, IL; three sisters-in-law, Linda Owens and husband, James of Poca, WV, Cindy Trout and husband, Jeff of Saint Albans, WV and Brenda White of Scott Depot, WV; two brothers-in-law, William Summers and wife, Denise of Wood Dale, IL and Gary Summers of Scott Depot, WV, other extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, William "Bill" Summers and two sisters-in-law, Patricia "Sissy" Summers and Gail Summers. Arrangements are entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL. The visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (Central Time) on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the funeral home. Following the time of visitation, the funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. (Central Time). Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery of Marion, IL.
