Retired nurse, road trip adventurer, and beloved mother and grandmother Phyllis Ann Massey's love of life didn't come to an end with her death. Phyllis passed away June 9, 2022 at the age of 67 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Phyllis was born on May 4, 1955, to George Monroe Valentine and Wanda Rae Morris in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from Kimball High School in 1973. Her graduation from San Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas kickstarted a 42-year career as a nurse from which she retired in April of 2021. She and her husband Frank "Terry" Massey were married on October 5, 1990 in Irving, Texas. Phyllis is preceded in death by her loving husband Frank "Terry" Massey, her older sister Evelyn Lea Nash, and her mother Wanda Rae Morris. She is survived by her father George Monroe Valentine of Arlington, daughters, Clarissa Emmons and husband Benny of Madill, Oklahoma and Molly Massey of Irving; a son, Adam Gilbert of Irving; seven grandchildren, Justin Roach, Andersen Cooper, Leslie Ann Cooper, Andrew Oefinger, Kamiryn Emmons, Trinton Emmons and Benny Emmons, III; nephews Michael "Sean" Chaney of Irving, Tony Burnett of Dallas, and Johnny Jester of Dallas; a niece, Summer Renee Nash of Waxahachie, and as she affectionately coined them, her sweet cousins Lavina Geraldine Morris and Tim Morris of Mesquite. Phyllis will be cremated and interred with her husband Frank "Terry" Massey in a private family gathering at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
