HERALD DEMOCRAT - Sunday, January 23, 2000 Blanche Hunter SHERMAN - Grave side services for Blanch Hunter of Sherman, 89-year-old retired employee of Mrs. Tuckers who died Friday, January 21, 2000, at Community Medical Center, will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, January 24, 2000, at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Jerry Jones of Key Memorial United Methodist Church will officiate, and arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Miss Hunter was born in the Cannon community east of Van Alstyne on October 18, 1910, the daughter of Val T. Hunter and Melinda Jane Dunn Hunter. She was reared in the Cannon community, attended the Cannon schools and later lived in Van Alstyne for eight years. She had been a resident of Sherman since 1938. Blanche was employed by Mrs. Tuckers (most recently known as Anderson Clayton Foods Plant) for thirty-four years, retiring in 1970 when she worked in the margarine mixing department. She also was very active in union activities during the time she worked at Mrs. Tuckers. She also had been employed by Williams Cafe during the time she lived in Van Alstyne. She had been a member of the Cannon Congregational Methodist Church before moving to Sherman and becoming a member of Key Memorial United Methodist. She is survived by two sisters, Nova Taylor and Lil Blankenship, both of Sherman; a brother, John F. Hunter of Sherman; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be nephews, Orval Blankenship, Gerald Blankenship, Frank Hunter, Raymond Hunter, Jr., and Val Mulder.
