Bio
Vernon Joe Morgan, 86, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. Joe was born in Princeton, Texas on July 20, 1935, the son of Joe B. and Laurene (Scott) Morgan. He graduated from McKinney Boyd High School in 1953. Joe and Laura Craghead were married in McKinney on July 20, 1953. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He went to work for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, working his way up to the executive office, where he retired after 37 years. Joe was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was an avid Lake Texoma fisherman. Joe is survived by his wife, Laura of Pottsboro and they would have been married 69 years; daughters, Saundra Jo Boring of Dallas and Rhonda Kay and her husband, Philip of Denison; numerous grand; great and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Jerry Morgan and daughter, Heather Jones. Visitation was 7-8 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2022 at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel with Father Randall Fogle officiating. Burial was in Georgetown Cemetery.
