Simeon Wilhoit son of Jesse and Mildred "Milly" Murphy Wilhoit married on 3 October 180 in Jefferson County, Kentucky, Mildred Murphy. __________________________________________ Siemon's birth date is determined from the fact that Jesse Wilhoit had not tithable (second tithable) in his household in 1798 but did have one in the years 1798-1803. A male becomes a tithable at the age of 16, so it may be assumed that Simeon was born the latter part of 1781 or 1782. He died in Oldham County, KY in 1817 or immediately before for in that year his brother Allen Wilhoit was taxed for himself and for Simeon Wilhoit, deceased. Simeon Wilhoit marriage record is taken from his family Bible (Still in exstance, 1940) His marriage is thought to be on record in Jefferson County, Kentucky but a record has not been located. Tradition on the line of descent from Simeon claims that an Unkle misused their estate. The fact that Zachariah Wilhoit was made guardian in 1824 for the infant children of Simeon seems to confirm this tradition, but the fact that Allen Wilhoit continued to serve as Administrator implies that there is nothing criminal about the alleged misuse. Simeon Wilhoit's family Bible is now in the possession of Mrs George Mellor of Greenfield, Illinois (1940). It gives the names and birth of his children as shown. Ref. Wiley E. Died Greenfield, Greene County, Illinois. 3. Gibson Wilhite 1813 - Md Amanda Hardin 8 Chilsren: Henry J, Harriet Amanda, Emmett A, Jefferson, Mary E, Demetrious, Joseph T, and James H Wilhite. 4. Simeon Jamison Wilhoit 1815 - 1906 Md Mildred Ann Hardin (Sister to Amanda who married brother Gibson) Children: Lucy A, Henry C, Jesse H and Mary Ellen "Molly" Wilhoit. Buried: San Luis Cemetery, San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo County, California. #86251466.
