Bio

Nina Karen Keith, 83, of Fullerton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at CHI Health-St. Francis in Grand Island, with her family by her side. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2022, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Fullerton with Reverend Allen Pingel officiating. Burial will follow at Main Cemetery in Belgrade. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday, May 15th at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Nina was born March 31, 1939 to Edward and Ila Mae (LeMaster) Bruna on the family farm in Nance County near Belgrade. She attended rural school and Belgrade High School before the family moved to Washington. She graduated from Linden High School in Linden, WA in 1956. The family moved back to Nebraska in 1959. Nina was united in marriage to Lowell Keith on September 27, 1963. To this union, two children were born: Monte and Gina. Nina worked various jobs including several years at Brown McDonald clothing and the variety store in Fullerton. She was then a bookkeeper for the family business for 37 years before they sold the business to their son, Monte. She continued to be a bookkeeper for a few more years before retiring. Nina truly loved her children and grandsons and made many trips to Lincoln to watch their ball games. She also loved the mountains and always looked forward to vacations in Colorado. Nina was diagnosed with colon cancer in July 2021 and spent considerable time in the hospital until her passing. She was a member of Eagles Auxiliary and Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lowell of Fullerton; son, Monte Keith of Fullerton; daughter, Gina (Matt) Benne of Lincoln; grandsons, Lexan and Makain Benne of Lincoln; brother, Jack (Judy) Bruna of Wayne; and sister-in-law, Delores (CL) Luedtke of Grand Island. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Gay Louise (Don) Cook; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorraine (Jim) Frederick, Lois (Gerhart) Ruff, Verla (Coog) Zentner, Thelma (Dick) Zabka, Howard (Gertrude) Keith, and Lyle (Cheryl) Keith.
