Bio

Brother Ronald Bartusiak, FSC, passed away on Sunday January 30, 2022. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Martha Bartusiak. Ronald is survived by his sisters, Carolyn Montgomery and her husband, Harry Montgomery and Betty Goodman and seven nieces and nephews. Ronald was born in Denver, Colorado to Pete Bartusiak and Martha Gregroski. Ronald lived with his family in Littleton, Colorado where he attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from the 8th grade in 1952. Ronald graduated from Mullen High School in May of 1958. In June of 1958 he entered the Novitiate of the Brothers of the Christian Schools in Lafayette, LA. Ronald attended St. Michael's College in 1959. In 1960 he went to Winona, Minnesota, and joined the scholasticate there in the Working Brothers Program for one year. In January of 1961 he returned to Santa Fé, NM and St. Michael's College in the Scholasticate to continue in basic studies and religion studies and to work in the college maintenance department in the afternoons. When his group graduated from the college, he was assigned to the College Faculty Community and started working in the maintenance department. Ronald worked in the building maintenance with plumbing, carpentry, welding, etc. Ronald was very talented in a number of areas. In 1965 he started in the motor pool department and took over the responsibility for the locks and keys. Brother Ron has seen the St. Michael's campus change the name to the College of Santa Fé, and when the college closed in May 2019 it became the Santa Fé University of Art and Design. Later he retired to the Brothers residence of St. Michael's High School where he continued in maintenance work until his death. Brother Ronald was a very generous and devout Brother. His talents are sorely missed. Funeral services will be a private service at the Brothers' Chapel on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 and burial will be at Rosario Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM.
