Bio
Martha Ann Young, 82, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 7:40 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2013 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus, Indiana. Mrs. Young was born on February 20, 1931 in Jennings County, Indiana the daughter of Ross Raymond and Druzzie M Hamilton Austin. Mrs. Young worked for the Jennings County W.I.C. office part time for 8 years and had retired from the former Regal Rugs where she had worked in as a sewing machine operator. She was a babysitter and caregiver for 4 years. Martha worked until she was 77 years old. She was a former member of New Freedom Baptist Church in North Vernon, Indiana. She was a 1949 graduate of Vernon High School in Vernon, Indiana. Her enjoyments included flowers, going to yard sales, attending church, watching birds, and sewing, but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Robert Eugene Young of Madison, Indiana; Edie (James) Schildknecht of North Vernon, Indiana; a sister, Wilma Birge of Dupont, Indiana; seven grandchildren Adam (Kristie) Young, Josh Young, Rachel Campbell and Robbie Lamb all of North Vernon, Indiana, Tonya Schildknecht of Columbus, Indiana, Brady Schildknecht of Annapolis, Maryland and Teresa (Jeff) Even of Lakeland, Florida; twelve great-grandchildren Dillon, J.T. , Christopher, Thomas, Cailtyn, Carmen, Alaina, Chase, Jonathon, Katie, David and Nathan. Funeral Service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon, Indiana with the Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon, Indiana on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the New Freedom Baptist Church Cemetery.
