Bio

Death certificate identifies him as J. E. Ferguson, his wife as Mrs. Tena Ferguson, and mother as Jane Williams. WWI draft card lists wife as Artena Fergerson. He died after suffering third-degree burns in a fire and explosion aboard the Captiva, a 130-foot yacht. Survivors included his wife; four sons, Bud and Marion Ferguson of Corpus Christi, Roy of Alice and Harry Ferguson of Port Neches; and four daughters, Mrs. Ferrell Lasiter of Jacksonville, Florida, Mrs. Opal Lee Virgin of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Coy Pugh of Port Neches and Martha Helen Ferguson of Corpus Christi ("Corpus Christi Caller," November 5, 1939).
