Marie Uher age 97 of Dodge, NE passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the Parkview Home in Dodge, NE. Mass of Christian Burial for Marie Uher age 97 of Dodge, NE will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, NE with Fr. Matt Gutowski as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery with a luncheon to follow in the Church Parish Hall. Visitation will be on Friday, May 27th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a public Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and will continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point is assisting the family with the arrangements. Marie passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the Parkview Home in Dodge, NE. Marie Magdalene Uher was born on November 27, 1924 in rural Colfax Co., Nebraska to Herman and Mary (Semerad) Mestl. Marie attended Colfax Co. Rural School District #29 and graduated from Dodge High School in 1942. On January 15, 1946, she was united in marriage to Edward Uher at St. Mary's Catholic Church-Tabor. The couple farmed in Colfax County for 18 years before moving into Dodge. In 1964, they purchased the Merry Martini and operated it for 18 years before retiring. Marie was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, its Altar Society, and sang in the choir. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #122 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post #8597. She also served on the Parkview Home Board of Directors for many years and helped with elections in Dodge. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, her dog "Pepper", bowling, traveling, and fishing trips, where she may have out fished Ed. Marie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include- Daughter-Mary Kay and Richard Arkfeld of Surprise, AZ Daughter-Sheri Uher of Surprise, AZ Grandchildren-Michael and Kelly Arkfeld and sons-Ben and Nick Katy and Todd Blue and children-Bradley and Brooke Nephews and nieces also survive Marie. She was preceded in death by her parents-Herman and Mary Mestl, husband-Ed Uher, daughter-Connie Adams, and brother-Herman Mestl.
