Larry Gene Horton, age 76, of Tyler, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in Tyler. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Purley Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Texas at 11:00 a.m. Larry was born on October 26, 1945 to Kermit and Toby (Davis) Horton in Purley, Texas. He was a farmer and served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kermit and Toby Horton and a brother, Leonard Horton. Larry is survived by his daughter, Michelle Horton of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother and his wife, Charles and Barbara Horton of Tyler, Texas; nieces, Charlotte Thompson of Tyler, Texas and Rhonda Wilson of Atlanta, Georgia; nephews and their spouses, Stanley and Whitney Horton of Houston, Texas and Jeff and Lana Horton of Jacksonville, Texas; Close friends that Larry chose as his family, Matt Smith, Sharon Thomas, Kristin, and Little Matt.
