Bio
Peggy Ann Heugatter, 80 of Bowie, TX, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 16th, 2022. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19th, at First Baptist Church of Sunset, with Pastors Doyle Wade and Charles Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Brushy Cemetery in Bowie. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 18th, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie. Peggy was born August 10th, 1941 in Sunset, TX to L.C. and Ova Lee (Collins) Wade. On June 1st, 1958, she married the love of her life, R.L. Heugatter in Fruitland, TX, and the couple remained lifelong residents of Montague County. Peggy enjoyed her days housewife, and enjoyed writing poems, and cooking and baking for fundraisers. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sunset for over 60 years, where she taught Sunday School for many years. For over 35 years, Peggy was also a member of the "Pink Ladies" Bowie Hospital Auxiliary. Peggy will be remembered with love and appreciation for be a devoted, wife, mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers, Luther Wade, Strauss Wade, Elizabeth Graves, Jim Wade, Bill Wade and Dorothy Knight. Peggy is survived by her husband of 64 years, R.L. Heugatter of Sunset; sons, Mike Heugatter of Sunset and Allen Heugatter and wife Kim of Bowie; grandchildren, Fallon Richey and husband Chase, Sawyer Heugatter, Shelby Heugatter and husband Jeff, and Chandon Heugatter; great-grandchildren Cannon, Ridley, and Selene; and numerous nieces and nephews. Should friends desire, memorials can be made in honor of Peggy to the First Baptist Church of Sunset. Arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie, TX.
