Bio
Services for Lorene Hassell Copeland, 93, of Palestine will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Jay Abernathy officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park. Mrs. Copeland died Monday at Cartmell Home for Aged. She was born December 20, 1910 in Palestine to Robert Lee and Mae Frankie Knox Hassell. Mrs. Copeland was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George D. Copeland, in 1991; sister, Evelyn Dean; and brother, S.C. Hassell. Mrs. Copeland is survived by stepdaughter, Fae Golden of Mineola; brother, John N. Hassell of Rusk; three stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Condolence calls will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday before the service.
