Former Patterson Police Chief James E. "Peanut" Sennette, 72, a native of Verdunville and resident of Patterson, died June 15, 2004 at his residence. He was a police officer with the Patterson Police Department for 21 years and served as assistant police chief and police chief for more than eight years. Funeral services were held at Good Hope with burial in the Shields Cemetery in Patterson. The East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad conducted military services in honor of their comrade. He was survived by his wife, Kathleen L. Sennette along with three daughters, two brothers, one sister, six grandchildren and two step-granchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
