Bio

John, son of Johan and Aloisia Detrick Schwab, was born October 1861 and married Anna Janitscheck on October 4, 1886 at Mahila Post Office and they had one son, Frank. Anna died and is buried in the Kearney Cemetery. John then married Mary Hakel. They were the parents of 14 children: Ernert who married Bertha Howard; Anna E. married George Brucker; Emma married Charles H. Day; Louisa married Robert Kirschner; John, Bill, and Carl who never married; Mary, died a age one; Bertha married Emil Kreutzer; Adolph married Marjorie Easterbrooks; Arnold married Dorothy Easterbrooks; and one daughter and two sons died in infancy. The Schwabs, who were farmers, lived in the Black Hill Creek community, near Amherst, Kearney, and north of Riverdale. John died March 11, 1935 and Mary died August 4, 1941.
