Rites Tuesday for Herman Otto, 86, County Pioneer Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the United Brethren church in Amherst for Herman Otto, 86, a pioneer resident of Buffalo county. Mr. Otto died at his home in Amherst Saturday night. The Reverend Snider will officiate at the services. Born in Germany, Mr. Otto came to America approximately 70 years ago, arriving in Kearney in 1884. He moved Kearney to Amherst in 1887, about the time the town was founded He had lived there since that time. A blacksmith, Mr. Otto had worked at the trade for 60 years, retiring approximately 10 years ago. His wife died in 1938 Surviving are four daughters, Miss Amelia Otto of Amherst, Miss Anna Otto of Kearney, Mrs. Clara Kolbo and Mrs. Bessie Kolbo, both of Callaway; two sons Edward G. of Amherst and Harry C. of Plainview, and seven grandchildren.
