Nancy Giffen Parma, 87, went to be with her Heavenly Father on October 31, 2021. She was born in Dallas, Texas on August 7, 1934 to Dr. Laurence E. and Margaret Wright Giffen. She grew up in Nacogdoches, Texas and moved to Ennis, Texas when she was 14. She graduated from Ennis High School in 1951. On August 16, 1952, she married Alex A. Parma and they lived in Ennis until 1984, when they moved to Dallas and then retired to their lake home on Cedar Creek Lake in 1990. Nancy worked as a cost accountant for Hayman Andres Construction Company for many years in downtown Dallas. Her last job was with the Henry C. Beck Company as a cost accountant on the Cityplace building before she retired in 1990. Her family was the most important thing in her life, as she always put them before herself. Nancy was also an animal lover. She was like a magnet to animals and little children who followed her around whenever she was near, and they instinctively knew that she really loved them. During family gatherings at her lake home, it was a sight to behold seeing a line of little kids and dogs following her out on the pier and back up into the yard! Also, Nancy never met a person who did not instantly like her and she became your best friend the moment you met her. She was extremely personable and loved everyone. She had a very strong love of life and reverence of God. She is preceded in death by her husband Alex A. Parma, her sister Carol Giffen, brother Dr. Larry Giffen, her parents, and many lifelong friends. Nancy will be greatly missed by her loving family including her daughters, Barbara Parma Bennett and her husband, Michael O. Bennett, and Phyllis Parma; son, Craig Parma and his wife, Linda; two grandchildren: Nikolas Bennett and Lauren Parma Gambordella and her husband, Ted; and two great-grandchildren, Teddy and Charlotte Gambordella; and her sister, Kay Alverson Sparks of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and a host of extended family and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021, from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, November 5, 2021, following the visitation, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Dr. Robert Preece officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Ennis, Texas. Nancy will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed, but we have peace knowing that she has inherited the kingdom of Heaven. We look forward to the day we are reunited together. Donations in memory of Nancy can be made to the Dementia Society of America or the Alzheimer's Association
