Thanks to contributor #48786212 Mrs. Hilda Brock dies here Sunday, service Wednesday (Monday May 8, 1972) Mrs. Hilda L. Brock, 70, of 147 Center Road, Heritage House, died Sunday at St. Mary Hospital after a two week illness. The Rev. John McGee will officiate at funeral services, 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Chapel, and burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The body is to lie in state after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She was born Feb. 19, 1902, at Bancroft, the daughter of William J. and Christina Magaratha Dau Gatzenmenyer, and was graduated from Columbus High School in 1919. On April 14, 1920, she was married to J. Julius Brock in Columbus. They resided here until 1940, then made their home in Compton, California, until returning here in 1960. Mrs. Brock had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and was a past member of the Rebekah Lodge and Columbus Izaak Walton Auxiliary. Four daughters survive: Mrs. Lee (Bernice) Hegi of Columbus, Prof. Eugenie Crawford of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mrs. E. B. (Lois) Stephens of Sebastopol, California, and Mrs. K. L. (Betty) Bannister of Ingelwood, California. Also surviving are grand-children, Richard, Duncan and Robert and Nancy Hegi, Columbus, Dr. Roger Crawford of Daly City, California, Mrs. Ronald Landry of Albuquerque, New Mexico, James L. Bannister of Ingelwood, California and Mrs. Robert Mayfield of Hermosa Beach, California; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry Gatzemeyer of Richmond, California, and two sisters, Mrs. Glenn (Linda) Stevenson of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Mrs. Carroll (Leona) Brown of Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Brock was preceded in death by her husband, on Oct. 21, 1971, and her parents.
